Lindsey Guin, ALC
Therapist
Lindsey (she/her/hers) graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies emphasizing the child and adolescent populations. Lindsey completed her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and going to the park with her dog in her free time.
Lindsey wholeheartedly believes that anyone and everyone can benefit from counseling. Lindsey strives to meet each client where they are and provide a safe and judgment-free zone for the therapeutic process. Lindsey is passionate about making therapy a collaborative process by encouraging clients to take an active role in their treatment. Lindsey uses a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions depending on what works best for each client. Lindsey’s goal for each client is to leave treatment with the confidence and self-esteem to implement coping skills and face adversity on their own.
Lindsey’s past counseling experience includes working with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, trauma and abuse, difficult life transitions, chronic illness, grief, and low self-esteem. Lindsey has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and the LGBTQ+ community. Lindsey is passionate about advocating for equal rights for all persons no matter their sex assigned at birth, gender identity, or sexual preferences. Lindsey looks forward to working with individuals who come from many different walks of life with a variety of presenting problems and therapeutic goals.
